Regal Fanfare - Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra

There is much to celebrate in 2023! With a REGAL FANFARE the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates its 25 anniversary - 25 wonderful years of bringing live classical music to our loyal and appreciative audiences in the Province.
We are also celebrating a return to the Feather Market Centre, which is slowly being restored to its former glory. This deserves a Fanfare, and what better way to do that, than to feature the magnificent pipe organ joining the orchestra in Saint-Saëns' Symphony No 3 - better known as the Organ Symphony. A Regal Fanfare showcasing the King of instruments.
Leading up to this, are two other regal highlights - five Princess Magogo songs, arranged by Prof Mzilikazi Khumalo and Peter Klatzow. The Princess Magogo Opera was performed in the Feather Market in 2006, as part of its national tour, accompanied by the ECPO - one of many highlights of the past 25 years.
Beethoven's powerful Egmont Overture opens the programme - dramatising the life and heroics of Lamoral, Count of Egmont - a Flemish nobleman executed for his stand against oppression.
