Lovers of reggae or those who simply enjoy a good party with great music shouldn’t miss the popular TwoTone Band in Reggae Night, a tribute to some of the biggest reggae acts of our time.
The band, led by musical director Ulagh Williams (keyboards and vocals) features some of the Bay’s most seasoned musicians including Grant Allison (bass), Bevin Maschaka (drums), David Houghton and Khanyiso Williams (guitars) and horn players Joash Soobramoney (sax) and Lincoln Adams (trumpet).
‘We are promising an authentic reggae sound with loads of feel-good vibes’ says director Williams. ‘With such accomplished players on stage we can’t help but be excited about this show. We’re looking forward to quite a party and audience members are encouraged to dress to the theme for a musical trip to Jamaica and back!’
The powerhouse vocal lineup features well-known PE artist Brenton Krain, theatre and corporate entertainer Jody Butler and TwoTone’s own afro-diva, Miranda Ncwane. The show is a nod to reggae legends including Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, UB40, Big Mountain, Eddy Grant and Lucky Dube.
The show will run for one night only at The Cash Store on Friday 30 May (8pm) and tickets cost R100. To book, call The Cash Store on (041) 366 1211. For more info, email info@twotonemusic.co.za.
