Suspended Exhibition

‘SUSPENDED’
A solo exhibition of paintings and drawings by well known local artist Esmé Goosen will take place at the ArtEC gallery in Bird Street from 4 December to 14 December 2012. A separate showing of some of her current students’ work will also be featured.
Goosen is known across the region as ‘The Blue Lady’ (also the name of her art studio) and this exhibition showcases her renowned and characteristic passion for blues and her love of abundant colour. Goosen is well known for her versatility as an artist, but figure drawing and painting as well as landscapes feature predominantly in this exhibition.
The title ‘Suspended’ originated from an initial theme about the manipulation of puppets in the literal sense to an unconscious or deliberate manipulation between people. It then evolved with the breaking up of the title, creating more interesting possibilities.
