'THE GREAT ROMANTICS'

Join the orchestra on Sunday, 11 June 2023 (3PM), in the Feather Market Centre, in the second concert of the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra's 25th Anniversary year. The ECPO joins orchestras worldwide in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth. And there is no better way to mark this than with his Piano Concerto No.2, performed by internationally acclaimed South African pianist, Nina Schumann.

The concert will also feature the 'Polovtsian Dances' by Borodin and Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony. The concert will be conducted by Jacobus de Jager, the winner of the 2022 South African Conductors' Competition, and a recent semi-finalist at the International Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors competition in Salzburg.
