A rare guitar lovers treat is coming your way and lovers of 70’s blues driven rock are in for something really special as Centrestage presents “The Ultimate Kickass Guitar show – 8 of the BEST!” at the Boardwalk’s Vodacom Amphitheatre on 28 December 2013.

The tribute to all things musically pyrotechnical will feature the smokin’ guitar-wizardry of no less than 6 kickass guitarists – all on stage together in front of the equally kickass Centrestage All-Star Band!

Long-time guitar wizard Donovan Hattingh is in town from Dubai and will be re-united with his former band-mates for the first time since travelling overseas.

Hattingh was the musical director for the Centrestage All-Star Band for a period of 6 years, during which they crafted some of the biggest Centrestage hits such as The Magnificent 7 and a host of other classic tribute shows.

He is joined on stage by the prodigious talents of Jens Koudele, Arno Erasmus, Sherid Van Rooyen, Wayne Kallis, Andrew Warneke and Hugo Kleinhans.

The extraordinary Jens Koudele originates from Germany, where he learned his dynamic interactive guitar skills copying the showmanship of ACDC guitarist Angus Young whilst performing as a member of one of Europe’s top ACDC tribute bands.

The perennially popular tribute to the guitar maestros has become a tradition amongst lovers of 70’s blues influenced hard rock populated by awesome guitar, drum and bass solos.

From much loved classics such as Smoke on the Water, Born to Be Wild, Little Wing, Little Red Rooster, Hey Joe, Voodoo Chile, Foxy Lady and Texas Flood, Pride and Joy, You Really Got Me, Eruption and the Boys Are Back in Town to the Lords of the genre, Led Zeppelin’s A Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog and Rock n Roll, Deep Purple’s Black Night and ACDC’s A Long Way to the Top, Highway to Hell, Let there Be Rock and Thunderstruck, the show promises to rock and blues things up respectively.

The rhythm section is provided by Gino Fabbri on drums and Andrew Warneke on funky bass.

Fans of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Metallica, Guns n Roses, Gary Moore and Van Halen will also not be disappointed as the Kickass guitar show promises to indulge with no less than 3 sets of musical heaven! As a finale, Boston’s More than a Feeling will feature all 6 guitarists playing guitar harmonies simultaneously.

The tribute to the juggernauts of the rock genre cost R120 each and bookings of 8 and more cost R110 per ticket.
