Leaving from the Boardwalk the Vintage Time Trial takes place on Sunday 21 September 2014.
This Time Trial is for vehicles that were manufactured prior to 1960.
During the 4 hour event, they will travel in the order of 150 km. The participants have a Route Schedule which provides clues as to the route, the average speed and in some instances, distance.
The scoring system involves penalty points for every second early or late that a participant deviates from the standard time. There are a number of marshalling points around the route. Lowest points win.
It is anticipated that we will have approximately 20 to 30 vehicles on the event.
Start will be at the Lighthouses Complex at The Boardwalk with Route Schedules being handed out from 8h30.
The actual start will be from 9h30 with cars leaving at 1 minute intervals
Finish will be at the same venue
Spectators would be able to see the vehicles leaving for the event from the Boardwalk. The cars would then go on display with the others at the motor fair. Public would also see the vehicles along the route. The details of the route are kept secret until the route schedule is given to the participants, however, certain viewing points may be disclosed earlier.
