Vodacom Unlimited Urban Beat House Afrika Tour brings you Black Coffee and other sizzling acts to headline New Year’s Eve beach party during the Vodacom Unlimited Urban Beat House Afrika Tour

The Vodacom Unlimited Urban Beat House Afrika Tour rolls into Port Elizabeth with the mother of all New Year’s Eve parties at New Brighton Beach on 31 December 2011.

Sand, sun, surf and waves galore – both ocean waves and sound waves – will set the scene for an awesome party on the beachfront of this iconic PE township.

With METRO FM in the house, broadcasting live from the event, party people can rest assured that the good times will start rolling from 12 noon and will keep pumping long after the countdown to 2012 is a distant memory.

Supersonic SA Music Award-winning DJ and producer Black Coffee will be bringing his distinctive Afropolitan house beats – home-brewed but trendsetting, soulful but progressive – to what looks set to be the year’s ultimate beach party.

Joining him in rocking the beachfront are fellow turntablists Rocco, Ralf GUM, Christos and Vinny da Vinci, Zeal, Tim White, Strat3gy, Andy X, Mthi, Minty, Bawa and Culoe de Song – ensuring a non-stop house music marathon under sunny and starry skies.

Vodacom will paint the party red with massive sound, spectacular lighting and a host of toys to ensure the party goes down in comfort and style. Tickets for the New Brighton Beach New Year’s Eve party range in price between R150 (pre-sold) and R200 on the day.

The Vodacom Unlimited Urban Beat House Afrika Tour is a three-month-long cross-country odyssey, during which premier local and international DJs travel to a selection of SA’s top clubs and venues to enable patrons to enjoy a sophisticated, unparalleled party experience.

After PE, the final two stops on the tour are Cape Town and Tsakane. Keep up to speed with all the latest news and updates on the parties on the Vodacom Unlimited Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/VodacomUnlimited), and follow the conversation on Twitter (@VU_Festival), where you can participate in DJ interviews and more.

DJ Rocco is a torchbearer for deep house music in France, DJing at spots like Space in Lyon alongside the likes of Laurent Garnier and Louie Vega and producing successful tracks. He’s also a member of Rodamaal alongside Alez S, David and Manoo. An in-demand DJ, Rocco regularly plays across Europe, USA, Asia and SA.

Hailing from Germany, deep house producer, remixer and DJ Ralf GUM has collaborated with the likes of Black Coffee, and is renowned for his uncanny ability to nail down a killer set. Adding to the international cachet of the event, all the way from India, is DJ Bawa, who will be setting down some spicy beats on the day.

It’s safe to say that DJs @ Work, aka Christos and Vinny da Vinci, are two of the hardest-working, most in-demand and most popular DJs in the country. Another local house legend is Tim White of House Afrika, whose pioneering spirit and encyclopedic knowledge give him an edge on the decks.

When not DJing, Strat3gy (aka Glenn van Loggerenberg) moonlights as a multimedia guru who produces television shows, music videos and events.

DJ Culoe de Song came to the attention of Black Coffee and DJ Christos while still in his teens, and has since become a serious force on the international deep house scene. He has since shared booths with the likes of Rocco and Vinny da Vinci – and can truly be said to be a legend in the making.

DJ Minty from Eastern Cape radio station TruFM is known as the “Queen of Vinyl”. As one of the first women in the Eastern Cape to enter the male-dominated field of DJing, this house music devotee has placed her definitive stamp on the airwaves.

DJ Zeal (aka Zandile Dladla) will add some extra girl power to the bash. This scintillating young DJ prodigy currently co-hosts The Urban Beat Show on METRO FM.

DJ Andy X – who hails from Port Shepstone – will rocking his home crowds on the day. He has worked extensively with the likes of Christos and Black Coffee, and has even represented South Africa at the Pan African Music Festival.

Another homeboy, DJ Mthi from PE, will also be burning up the beachfront. Having started out as a kwaito hopeful, he switched genres and has now become a firm favourite with his soulful, deep, minimal and tech house sets.
