Walmer School of Dance presents RUN
WOMEN as warriors, mothers, heroines and queens take centre stage in ‘RUN’, the Walmer School of Dance production featuring ballet, jazz and contemporary dance that fittingly opens on Women’s Day, 9 August. ‘RUN’ is a treat for lovers of dance with junior and senior pupils featuring in a variety of modern and classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance pieces. The show opens with a moving mini-ballet about refugees and love in a time of conflict, featuring senior dancers Louise Daniel and Neil Brand, who also perform the striking ‘Checkmate’ of a duel to the death between White Queen and Black King. Ensemble pieces feature younger pupils as swans, Winnie the Pooh’s and jazzy hippies.
Diverse dance styles and powerful choreography in a show celebrating dance teacher Troy Coffey’s 10th anniversary as principal owner of Walmer School of Dance.
