1time to extend operations to Lanseria Airport in early 2012
06 December 2011
1time’s CEO, Rodney James notes that the route will significantly help the airline grow its business.
“Lanseria Airport is a convenient option for passengers staying or operating in the Northern or North Western suburbs of Johannesburg, as it provides a great alternative to OR Tambo International. The airport also presents a great opportunity to significantly increase our passenger share.
“We are, therefore, very excited about flying from the airport and plan to ensure that our usual high standard of service and value for money continues with our Lanseria routes.”
It is close to the business hub of Sandton, and is less than 0km from the centres of Johannesburg and Pretoria.
The new routes from Lanseria International Airport represent 1time’s first venture to a so called “secondary airport”, which is consistent with the trend of low cost carriers the world over.
James concludes that the introduction of Lanseria is a testament to the solid growth of 1time.
“These new routes are indicative of our positive view of 2012, and demonstrate that we are growing and developing all the time. Moving forward, we are looking for further avenues to explore to make flying easy and affordable, with routes to other exciting destinations on the horizon.”
