The Honorable executive mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) Danny Jordaan had a meet and greet session with the two Eastern Cape born, Miss South Africa 2016 finalists Luyolo Mngonyama and Mikaela Oosthuizen at the mayor’s office this afternoon.

“Never stop believing in your own abilities to achieve your goals” said Jordaan. He continued by encouraging the young ladies to go out there and bring that crown home to the NMB.

The meet and greet was also a sendoff for the two finalists before they depart for Johannesburg on Thursday to prepare for the finale.

A third year NMMU BA in Psychology and Sociology student Mngonyama shared how she wants to use the Miss SA pageant to empower young ladies to love and respect themselves. “The Miss SA platform has been a great learning curve for me and I can only hope to inspire young ladies by imparting that self-love and respect for yourself and others will propel them to greater heights” said Mngonyama. The 20 year old, 2010 Miss SA teen Mikaela lamented about how education is important to her as she is doing her third year in Media, Communications and Culture at NMMU.

The two ladies form part of the top 12 beautiful Miss SA finalists who will be vying for the coveted Miss South Africa crown on the 19 March 2016 in Sun City. The pageant will be broadcasted on Mzansi Magic.
