ALGOA CUP AND GIO FABBRI
Algoa Cup
Fabbri is chiefly known for the hilarious range of stereotype
characters he plays. Integrated into his act are a number of unique
show-stopping speciality acts which create wow moments between his
comedy characters, including his Evolution of Dance, in which he
performs 50 dance styles in 7 minutes, his Evolution of Drums in
which he plays the greatest and most recognisable drum riffs, and he
also amazes by playing a Toaster with a pair of forks.
The Algoa Cup is one of Port Elizabeth’s most popular meetings.
It attracts big crowds not only due to the racing, but also due to
the myriad of entertainment and fine fare provided, both of which
cater for the needs of all age groups.
There are also lucky draws throughout the day.
The Algoa Cup itself has gained in prestige since being won by the
subsequent J&B Met winner Hill Fifty Four three years ago.
The day will have a unique start this year in that a charity walk/run
in aid of polio awareness will be held at 7h30 in the morning, to
which all are welcome (food vendors will be opening from 6h30).
Be sure not to miss this racing carnival, which has become known as
one of Port Elizabeth’s most festive family day's out!
