Babes in the hood
02 November 2011
The expo is aimed at teachers, expectant parents and families with children aged newborn to 12 years old and will entertain kids with a Daily Entertainment Zone, free fun Action Area, Creative Corner and fabulous lucky draw prizes.
“We are glad to have this event in our city. Summer is almost here and it’s time to get the kids out of the house and into all the fun activities we have in the Bay,” said Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) chief executive Mandlakazi Skefile.
“NMBT is proud to associate with events such as this Kids and Baby expo because they create a buzz of activity in the city and cement our promise of fun and adventure in Nelson Mandela Bay.”
Visitors to the expo will see eighty thrilling exhibitors, and enjoy loads of fun for the kids, from action cricket to soccer, paintball to train rides and fun playgrounds. Parents can also listen to experts in child & baby care at the Small Talk Workshop every hour throughout the weekend.
“This year’s expo is set to deliver the very best in entertainment and education, wellness and nutrition, furniture and décor, clothing and sport, creativity and crafts, photography and much more. A live action arena and a creative corner will also be hosting all-day fun for the kids,” said event organizer Linda Harwood.
A delectable selection of food and drinks will include coffee bars where the adults can relax, and also fun vendors for the kids; from candyfloss to ice cream, popcorn to chip & dip, there will be a ‘taste adventure’ for everyone.
The expo is open from 10am to 6pm on Friday, and from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
