Bayworld Tropical House re-opens

Bayworld in Nelson Mandela will soon be re-opening the Bayworld Tropical House for an exciting program over June / July for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The venue is newly renovated and perfect for hosting shows and exhibitions.

The Tropical House is considering hosting a musical entitled “My African Dream” which will allow viewers a glimpse into the diverse beauty of our country’s history. The show will take place in a supper theatre setting and guests will be treated to vibrant music and colourful costumes, complimented by powerful narration and hundreds of background slides.

An exhibition on the Nguni cattle, displaying information about the Nguni, their history, cultural role and artistic beauty, is also being planned for this centre. The Nguni cattle have become synonymous with the Xhosa culture of South Africa as portrayed in the book “The Abundant Herds” by Marguerite Poland. Visitors will also be able to purchase items such as books and hides. A Bafana Bafana and Port Elizabeth soccer expo are also currently being planned.

Bayworld is situated on the beachfront and in close proximity to accommodation establishments, making it easily accessible to tourists. It provides Nelson Mandela Bay with the opportunity to showcase the Eastern Cape and give visitors a truly African experience.
