BAYTV MUSIC VIDEO

Baytv channel 260, launched a music video competition earlier this year, January. The competition called to all local artists who have songs play listed on any radio station, to submit their songs in a bid to stand a chance to win a music video, produced by Baytv.

This campaign was the brain child of the Baytv Management and Staff, to try promote the local music and art industry in the Nelson Mandela bay and Eastern Cape. As a community channel, Baytv understands the lack of a vibrate media industry in the Eastern Cape and therefore has a mandate to promote local artists and the local industry, in giving hope and a platform to Eastern Cape artists. 

The competition saw hundreds of entries, with amazing talent showcased, it made the work of the judges tough and long; but the top four were chosen, out the four, three are from the the broader community of the Eastern Cape and we have our very own talented Lunthando Matodlana, who release his single earlier this year, we chose Matodlana to celebrate our own staff members who are also representing and contributing to the music industry in Nelson Mandela Bay. These talented young people proved that the Eastern Cape and the Nelson Mandela Bay has plenty of talent ready for harvest.

The channel puts out a call for the support for local talent and the industry. Baytv continues to lead in providing platforms and outlets for local artists.

With shows that give an opportunity to different artists to talk and share about their passion and skills. Baytv is dedicated in making the channel a window to the Eastern Cape and the first stop for local musicians and producers.

The winners of the competition are four different artists and sounds, but all chosen on the merit of their talent. We get to hear Eastern Cape’s own locally grown talent, through these songs and hard work of these young individuals.

The name and songs of the artists are as follows:

Reel Gruv ft Lucia – Supper Natural Love

Gqala – Xa Sendikuthanda

Lubha ft Force  Point of view           

Luthando Matodlana – Aphakama amazulu

The channel will be hosting an official launch of the video, inviting media and stakeholders of the community of the Eastern Cape to be part of this occasion.
