CATCH “THE BOSS” AT THE BOARDWALK THIS MONTH
USA born, Wayne Kallis, is the “boss” fronting the seven piece band that pays tribute to the legendary Bruce Springsteen at The Boardwalk this month. Together with Centerstage’s talented band, he will bring to life on stage Springsteen’s most memorable hits at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre on 24 and 25 March 2017.
Kallis is a firm Eastern Cape favourite, having played a role in the majority of the hit Centrestage review shows. Kallis amuses and impresses with his uncanny vocal impressions. Joining him on stage are Joash Soobramoney on sax, Sean Lyon on trumpet, Andrew Warneke on bass, Deborah Everard on keys and Devon Van Rooyen on drums.
With unbelievable precision, they will perform hits like ‘Dancing in the Dark’, ‘Born in the USA’, ‘I’m on Fire’, ‘Glory Days’, ‘Tougher than the Rest’, ‘Streets of Philadelphia’, ‘My Hometown;, ‘Cover Me’ and ‘Tougher than the Rest’, amongst others. Included in the salute will be live concert favorites such as ‘Born to Run’, ‘The Rising’, ‘Badlands’, ‘The River’, ‘10th Avenue Freeze Out’, ‘Thunder Road’ and ‘No Surrender’.
“Wayne Kallis is a vocal dead ringer for Springsteen. This show has all the potential elements to become one of Centrestage’s most rocking live shows, as the Springsteen songbook is so packed with big production songs, as well as chart toppers. The band, including a terrific horn section, plays this music so well,” says Centrestage’s Gary Hemmings
Shows start at 19h30 and tickets costing between R130 and R160 can be purchased at Computicket. Like The Boardwalk on Facebook www.facebook.com/boardwalk.elizabeth and follow on Twitter @TheBoardwalkPE.
