CITY LODGE HOTELS 3 BEACHES CHALLENGE THIS SUNDAY

The open water swimming season comes to an official end this Sunday with the hosting of the popular City Lodge Hotels Group 3 Beaches Challenge from Pollok Beach.

The last summer swimming event for the season showcases the magnificent Nelson Mandela Bay beachfront with a fun event, established in 2012 and backed by the City Lodge Hotels Group, which brings the open water swimmers, surf lifesavers and fun runners together as they race along the beachfront stretch from Pollok Beach to Kings Beach and back. 

Open to individuals, teams of 2 or teams of 4, the participants have to swim between Pollok Beach and Kings Beach, coming out the water and running around a transition area on both Hobie Beach and Humewood Beach. From Kings Beach it's a 3km run back to Pollok Beach for the finish. For the lifesaving Ironman category, the order of events will be Surf ski, swim, malibu and run.

Always great fun and a fitting end to a very busy open water swimming season for the local participants. There will be lots of lucky draw prizes up for grabs from the City Lodge Hotels Group and a R500 Caltex fuel voucher plus finish line hydration from Score Energy Drink.
