CRAFT UPS THE ANTE FOR TASTE ADVENTURERS
Craft Burger is a scrumptious option to satisfy the taste buds.
The Boardwalk’s gourmet burger and ribs restaurant, Craft, has upped the ante for taste adventurers with some exciting new twists to its just refreshed menu.
“As if the bold and extensive choice of hunger-busting, taste-bud-titillating gourmet burgers, salads and desserts couldn’t get any better, our culinary team has pulled a few more surprises out of the hat. The menu is an explorers dream with even more extraordinary choices to try,” says The Boardwalk Marketing Manager, Nqobile Majozi.
On the burger front, there are two new must-tries; the Black and White-blackened Fish (panga ) burger decked with corn and red pepper relish and guacamole and served with crispy sweet potato, and the Dirty Pig, a mouthwatering pulled pork, slaw and rib sauce stack.
New to the cast of outrageous salads there is the Kitchen Sink, burgeoning with mixed leaves, tomato, cucumber, feta, olives, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, shredded ham, pulled chicken, biltong, chopped egg, roasted red pepper and ranch dressing. For those not shy of tucking into hearty carbs there is the Craft Couch Potato, a delicious concoction of steamed potatoes, gherkins, chopped egg, crispy bacon, biltong, ham, chives and mayo.
For dessert, sweet lovers have some exciting variations of the doughnut to tuck into. These include amongst others the King of Rock and Roll, a sugar dusted doughnut, with peanut butter and banana ice cream, and jack Daniels glazed pecan nuts; the Chuck Berry, a sugar dusted doughnut, with blue berry and vanilla ice cream, topped with old fashioned frosting and smarties; the Cherry Oh Baby, a sugar dusted doughnut, with black cherry ice cream, black cherry compote and chocolate gnache, as well as the Chocolate Salty Balls, a cornered off doughnut with dark chocolate and chili ice cream and salted caramel.
Craft has also bolstered its range of dessert drinks, with a grand selection that can be served as a coffee or as a Dom Pedro. The choices include Irish, French, Calypso, Amarula, Russian, Jamaican, Caribbean, Mexican, Spanish and Roman.
With its exciting menu, informal but vibrant interior, an upmarket bar area and regular live entertainment, Craft has become a popular place to meet, eat and socialize. The menu offers something for everyone, including adventurous new taste-seekers and the carb-conscious.
Craft’s beef burgers are handmade on site from 100% pure ground beef, weighing in at a healthy 170g each. Exciting gourmet options include The Cheese Maker, a succulent beef patty with brie, mozzarella and cheddar; Widow Maker, two Craft beef patties with three cheeses, four streaky bacons and beer battered onion rings, and The Dirty Sanchez, a house patty with loads of cheddar, sliced jalapenos, refried beans and guacamole. There is also an extensive selection of gourmet ribs and no less than ten enticing variations of chicken wings.
Diners can customize their meals with sides such as cheesy potato wings, jalapeno poppers, coleslaw, battered onion rings, zucchini fries and sweet potato wedges. Decadent sauces include smoked garlic mayo, horseradish mayo, smoked paprika ketchup and harissa amongst others. Craft serves a range of craft beers, local beers, wine, hot drinks as well as decadent signature milkshakes.
