Demand for MBay Megafest tickets expected to spike

Organisers of the MBay Megafest at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on June 2 expect ticket sales to spike and sell-out after a promising first week of ticket availability.
Zeranza SA CEO, Andrea Wessels, confirmed a “steady demand for tickets”  since sales opened at Computicket late Friday (11 May) and that demand would intensify for the once-off concert in Port Elizabeth.
The concert features Ludacris, Ne Yo, Protoje, Shaggy and a host of national stars, including Bucie, Mi Casa, Eltonnick and NAAK.
Wessels, who heads up the Port Elizabeth based Zeranza SA which achieved a major coup by contracting  the stars to come to Nelson Mandela Bay said people in the region sensed the importance of putting the Metro on the international concert circuit, by supporting the mega concert.
“While I am quietly confident that the stadium will be full on concert day, I urge residents in the region to buy tickets early to send a signal to the music industry that this city should also be named among locations in South Africa as Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.’’
“With 9 Grammy’s, 3 SAMA’s and multiple award winners represented at the festival, it is expected that every available ticket will be snapped up,” she said. 
38 000 tickets, which includes fixed seating and standing room on the pitch are available.
Prices range from R150-R550 and are available at Computicket.
