DOCKSIDE BREWERY CELEBRATES "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S COLLABORATION BREW DAY"
Dockside Beer Truck
Dockside Brewery’s plan for 2018 is to focus more on the local market. Although we are in our 4th year of producing and selling beer in Port Elizabeth; our main market has been tourism. We plan to give PE something new and different. Some might remember the days when we had milk and orange juice delivered to our door. This service stopped many years ago, but we at Dockside Brewery plan to introduce a similar service, with a slight twist. We will now be loading our beer truck and delivering beer to your door. (Of course, as always, terms and conditions apply. See our website DocksideBrewery.co.za for more info.)
Locals can come and enjoy our beers at our official taproom in the Boardwalk Centre, 2nd Avenue Summerstrand. Come and visit us at the DOCKSIDE ALE HOUSE, shop 26 Boardwalk Centre. Dockside Brewery has also introduced Ale By Mail where you can place your orders directly with the Brewery which is situated in North End, visit alebymail.co.za to place your order.
In our four years of producing extraordinary beer, we have made 42 different beers, but not all are available all the time. At present, our taproom is limited to 8 taps, one of which is reserved for our Gin and Tonic; popular with the guys and the girls. Five taps are reserved for our more popular beers, which allows us to always have something new on the other two taps. Again, watch our website to see which beers have been kegged that week, it might be your favourite!
The taproom is a place for people to come and learn about different styles and flavours of beer. It’s a chance to step out of your comfort zone and allow your pallet to evolve. We offer such a broad range of flavours in our beer, we don’t expect everyone to enjoy every beer. But understanding why you like some flavours and don’t like others can help you to evolve as a beer drinker and it helps us learn more about you and our beers as perceived by others.
So, before you rush in and get beer delivered to your door, start off by visiting the Ale House at the Boardwalk and taste the different beers that are available there, to find out what you like. We are always keen to talk about our beer, any beer; as beer is our passion, our way of life!

Since our inception in 2014. Dockside Brewery has gained a reputation for being innovative, inventive and creative, we have been responsible for creating a number of industry firsts: We were the first brewery in South Africa to produce a sour beer, el Diablo and own beer flavoured ice cream.
The first brewery in the world to use beetroot as an ingredient in beer and the only one in the world to have a salted Caramel Milkshake IPA. On the 8th March 2018: International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, we will be taking part for the 3rd consecutive year and plan to produce another world first. More about that closer to the time…
‘You will have to come to the Ale House on the day to see what we plan to make, you can join in and be part of it too. Samples will be available of the beer we are brewing.’ Says Jane Schlaphoff.
