Eastern Cape gets voice on national events industry

Nelson Mandela Bay based Inkanyezi Event Organisers’ CEO, Andrew Binning has been elected onto the National Board of the Exhibition and Events Association of Southern Africa.

Binning, whose appointment was described by  Outgoing EXSA Chair, Nigel Walker, as significant, is the only Eastern Cape based representative and one of 13 newly elected board members.

“It reflects the quality of work produced by Binning’s company in the Eastern Cape, which has lifted the region’s profile as an event destination but his appointment also gives the region a voice at national level.’’

Binning, whose company’s international tradeshow, South African Automotive Week was named South Africa’s best Exhibition with a Conference in 2012, said he was honoured by the appointment.

“It is an honour to be voted onto the Board with the country’s leading players and I am particularly pleased to be able to represent the Eastern Cape sector’s interests.

“Events provide regions with lucrative revenues and while the Eastern Cape has potential it requires significant development to grow its share of the pie.’’
