Entries for the 2011 Pritt Ironkids now open
14 February 2011
1000 enthusiastic youngsters will be making waves in the pool at McArthur’s Pool and Leisure Centre before taking to the road as they make their way towards the famed Ironman finish line. The Pritt Ironkids aquathlon is an event that has gone from strength to strength and it is therefore no coincidence that it has developed into the biggest Ironkids event in the world.
Kids from the age of 6 – 13 can enter and be part of the fun and excitement that is always part and parcel of the Pritt Ironkids. Children in the 6 – 9 age group swim 60m and run 1.2km while those in the 10 – 13 age group swim 100m and run 2km. The aim of the event is to encourage children to participate in a healthy outdoor activity as well as to foster a healthy, active lifestyle from an early age. The event also gives the kids a chance to be part of the Ironman weekend when there’s that constant buzz and excitement in the region.
