Fabric painting workshops for kids and teens this holiday
11 June 2012
With a few colours and a suitable brush, fabric painting opens up endless opportunities for transforming your wardrobe and your home. It enables you to create one-of-a-kind clothes and also brings life to your plain curtains, cushion covers or table cloths.
The workshop will start with a tour of the exhibitions on show, which will give participants the spark they need to get their creative juices flowing. They will then proceed onto painting a unique design on their chosen piece of fabric.
Workshops will take place on the following dates:
25, 27 and 28 June 2012 (Ages 7 – 13 years)
11 and 12 July 2012 (Ages 14 years and older)
All workshops will take place from 9am – 12pm. The cost is R30 and all paints and brushes will be provided including light refreshments. Please note that participants are to bring any t-shirt, cushion cover, table cloth (not larger than 1m²), fabric shoe or fabric item (preferably white) that they would like to paint on.
Fifteen participants can be accommodated per workshop so phone the Art Museum on 041 506 2000 to make a booking for a morning of fun! Bursaries are available, on request, for suitable applicants.
