FAMILIES GET READY FOR CITY LODGE HOTELS 3 BEACHES CHALLENGE

Swimmers, paddlers and lifesavers get to take advantage of the magnificent beachfront in Sunday's City Lodge Hotels 3 Beaches Challenge from Pollok Beach.

The popular City Lodge Hotels Group 3 Beaches Challenge takes place on Sunday morning (18th) from in front of the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club at Pollok Beach.  Established in 2012, this fun event is an exciting individual or team race along the stunning Port Elizabeth beachfront for open water swimmers, surf lifesavers, stand-up paddlers and runners.
 
Teams are split into two groups; Duo team or a Quad Team with the Duo teams comprising of a swimmer and a runner whilst a Quad team will have 3 swimmers and 1 runner. The event starts at Pollok Beach with the swimmers and lifesavers setting off on a 1.6km stretch to Hobie Beach before coming out the water to round a Score Energy Drink transition station and/or tag their team mate. Stage 2 is a 800m stretch from Hobie Beach to Humewood Beach, Stage 3 is 1.1km from Humewood Beach to Kings Beach whilst the final stage is a 3km run from Kings Beach along the promenade back to Pollok Beach. The Surf Lifesavers will take part in their Lifesaving Ironman Category with the order of events being Surf Ski, swim, malibu and run.
 
Entries are open on www.3beaches.co.za with some great prizes from the City Lodge Hotels Group and other supporters up for grabs and finish line drinks from Score Energy Drink. Entry fee is R150 per person and R200 per team and late entries will be taken on the morning but carry a R50 late entry penalty fee.
