Five-star accommodation for the whole family at The Boardwalk, Port Elizabeth

There is now five-star accommodation for the whole family at Port Elizabeth’s beach-front Boardwalk leisure complex.  Opening in December 2012, the five-star Boardwalk Hotel, where all 140 guest rooms overlook the Indian Ocean, has been built as part of R1-billion investment in The Boardwalk by empowerment company Emfuleni Resorts.

Designed to accommodate both families and couples wanting an Indian Ocean break, the Boardwalk Hotel has a number of family suites with interleading rooms. There’s plenty to keep both young and old busy.

Port Elizabeth’s world-famous Hobie Beach beckons a short stroll away from the hotel. There’s plenty of clean white sand on which to relax, and the Indian Ocean in which to cool off. Hobie Beach is also the launching place for diving parties. Algoa Bay has some of the best soft coral diving in the world. Another short stroll along the promenade is the Blue Flag Humewood Beach, which offers more sheltered swimming and more shade.

Nelson Mandela Bay, the Metro which includes Port Elizabeth, is also a golfer’s paradise. Nearby Humewood is one of the few true links courses in South Africa, while just “up on the hill” is the Port Elizabeth Golf Club. But, there is no need to leave The Boardwalk and environs. It has a world of restaurants to cater for all tastes and budgets, a games arcade, movies, boutique shopping, open air funfair and live entertainment most weekends.

Situated just 10 minutes away from the Port Elizabeth International Airport and the main freeway leading into the beach front, The Boardwalk Hotel is easily accessible.
