GROWING BUSINESS EVENTS TO NELSON MANDELA BAY

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality recently attended Meetings Africa Meetings Africa 2022 which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg from 28 February to 2 March 2022.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality recently attended Meetings Africa 2022 which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg from 28 February to 2 March 2022. Tne municipality secured a 9m X 3m = 27m² exhibition stand and took five sharing exhibitors from Nelson Mandela Bay to the show. Sharing exhibitors was made up of a variety of business events industry stakeholders that showed interest in attending the exhibition of which some attended for the first time. Sharing exhibitors included Overall Events, Exclusive Hospitality Concepts, Blunden Coach Tours, the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and B&E Conference Centre.

Meetings Africa is a business events platform featuring Africa as a sought-after destination. This exhibition showcases Africa’s diverse offering of services and products where African associations and the African meetings industry professional can partner to help transform our continent. It aims at proving a comprehensive platform connecting with a global network of decision makers, buyers and influencers With Meetings Africa 2019 being one of the last business events exhibitions that took place before the COVID-19 pandemic, SA Tourism was pleased to introduce the exhibition as the first major in-person business events exhibition post the pandemic.

The Meetings Africa platform gives one the opportunity to present Nelson Mandela Bay as a brand, its products and services to senior decision makers and influencers. Visitors attending the exhibition include professionals from the meetings, events and business events industry including conference organizers, incentive houses, in-house event co-ordinators, association buyers. Hosted buyers are invited by SA Tourism’s National Convention Bureau from all over the world.

The Meetings Africa 2022 show was a welcome return to business for the Business events industry and those who attended had some exciting new business deals signed as well as new business leads to follow up on for destination Nelson Mandela Bay. The NMB Conference Bureau provides destination expertise on Nelson Mandela Bay and supports associations, corporates, professional conference organisers, destination management companies and event organisers, which are interested in hosting events in the city or surrounding area.
