HEARTY, AUTHENTICALLY SOUTH AFRICAN FOOD AND MAN-SIZED FUN AT THE BOARDWALK FOR FATHERS DAY

Braai treats on offer at Kipling's for Fathers Day.
Father’s Day on Sunday 19 June 2016 will be marked with man-sized fun and hearty heritage food at The Boardwalk. Restaurants such as The Boardwalk’s specialty seafood restaurant, Coast; gourmet burger and rib eatery, Craft, upmarket Kiplings Brasserie and popular buffet restaurant, The Bayside Pantry, have put together some awesome menus for the day.

At Coast, dads and their families can tuck into a mouthwatering spit braai buffet menu. There will be a choice of starters including a smoked salmon platter and prawn salad and an array of delicious meats and seafood dishes for mains, including deboned legs of lamb, marinated snoek, seafood paella, and honey mustard chicken pieces. Craft will also feature a braai menu with its customoary gastropub feel. To start there are authentically South African braai side dishes such as cheddar, bilton spice and tomato braai broodjies, creamy coleslaw and potato salad. On the grill there is marinated chicken quarters, spiced T-bone, sticky pork ribs and chili mint glazed lamb chops. Dessert choices include peanet butter and banana cheesecake and Irish coffee ice cream cake. The cost per head is R195 and includes a 500ml Black Label Beer for dad, and live entertainment. At The Bayside Pantry, the famous buffet spread will burgeon with satisfying dishes, from winter warming hot pots and stir fries to curries, roasted meats and vegetables and a selection of indulgent desserts. The Bayside Pantry’s buffet will also include a special braai station featuring chumichurri chicken sundowners, boerewors, grilled lamb chops, marinated pork rashers and mini sandwiches off the grill. The airy Kiplings Brasserie at The Boardwalk Hotel will also stage a delicious Father’s Day braai buffet. There is a sumptious selection of mouthwatering starters, soups, vegetable side dishes and desserts, all with a distinctly South African character. In the braai section there are favourites such as boerewors, braaibroodjies while desserts such as milk tart offer a “local is lekker” end to the feast. The cost per head is R250.
