INTERNATIONAL WHITNEY HOUSTON & QUEEN TRIBUTES COMING TO PORT ELIZABETH

The newly renovated Port Elizabeth Opera House is set to kick off it’s Summer program with a bang, hosting two of the world’s biggest tribute shows in it’s first weekend reopened to the public.

The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show and Queen – It’s a Kinda Magic will jet into PE for what will be the former’s only South African dates for the next 12 months and, conversely, for the latter just one stop of five in a three month national tour.

With very limited seasons in PE – only three performances for each show – promoter Showtime Australia is expecting tickets to move fast. And for Queen – It’s a Kinda Magic there’s a little PE history to back up these claims – last time the show visited PE it’s entire season sold out in pre-sale.

“Both these shows are huge at the moment. Whitney is booked out internationally for the next three years and Queen is very close to the same so there won’t be another chance to see them in PE for a while,” says Director Johnny Van Grinsven.

While there are obvious differences in the repertoires for each show, Van Grinsven assures the production values are the same. “Both shows are a real spectacle with all the lighting and effects and grandeur of a real Whitney or Queen concert so we’re looking forward to bringing all of that to the refreshed Opera House.”

Tickets for all performances go on sale via Computicket this Friday 2 October 2015.
