JUNIOR SECURES SERIES WIN

Professional triathlete Clinton Gravett (round 4 winner) congratulates overall Series Champion Keegan Cooke from Port Elizabeth.
Junior EP triathlete Keegan Cooke, at just 18 years of age, secured the 2015 About IT Triathlon Summer Series overall title after another outstanding performance amongst a star studded field on Saturday morning in Port St Francis.
The Series finale took place in the picturesque setting of Port St Francis on Boxing Day with over 200 triathletes taking part. For second year running, the St Francis triathlon was won by professional triathlete Clinton Gravett from East London in a time of 1hr 3min and 27sec. Stellenbosch triathlete Dylan Pivo was second in 1:04:55 with PE's Nutritech sponsored triathlete Richard Lawrie in 3rd place in 1:05:08. Cooke placed 5th overall and was the first junior home in 1:09:09.
In the Ladies category PE triathlete Liza Kingston claimed her 9th consecutive Series title with her 4th win of the 2015 Series in a time of 1:16:20. Monique Janse Van Rensburg (1:16:46) was second and Antonelle Saporta (1:20:25) finished in 3rd place.
Twenty six teams took part with the local St Francis teaming of Charne De Jager, Charles Butler and Phil Smith winning the team category from the well know Port Elizabeth Billson family with father Patrick teaming up with his daughters Carmel & Natalie. In third place was the team of Mich Stone, Trevor and Richard Elliott.
Following their involvement in the About IT Triathlon Summer Series for the last 9 years event organisers Zsports Events NPC, a Port Elizabeth non-profit events company, has announced that they are planning a once a month winter sprint distance triathlon series in Port Elizabeth.
