KARLIEN VAN JAARSVELD IS BACK IN THE BAY FOR A HOLIDAY SHOW

Karlien van Jaarsveld, one of South Africa’s most successful performers and the darling of the Afrikaans music industry, is headed Port Elizabeth to perform for her local fans at the Boardwalk during the upcoming school holidays. She takes to the stage at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre for a one night only concert on 13 April 2017.

“Jackals Trou met Wolf se Vrou”, “Beter as Liefde” and “Geskeurde Jeans en Woorde” are just some of her hits fans can look forward to hearing.  She will also be performing “My Hartjie”, featured in the blockbuster South African film, Hollywood in my Huis.

Whilst surrounded by fame and living life in the lime light, being the sibling of heartthrob Bobby van Jaarsveld and having been married to famous rugby player Derick Hougaard, Karlien is surprisingly down to earth and humble.

Boasting a bunch of music awards, from a SAMA right down to a Ghoema and everything in between,  Karlien has performed at some of the country’s biggest shows including Afrikaans is Groot, Huisgenoot Skouspel, Krone and at the South African Music Awards. She is a regular headline act at major music festivals and has also been adored on the covers of the Sarie, Rooi Rose, Huisgenoot, You and Marie-Claire magazines.

Not only can Karlien sing, but she can dance as well.  She was the winner of the 2015 season of the reality show, Strictly Come Dancing, after being up against some really tough competition.

Life is not all about fame and fortune for this mother of twins.  Her and brother Bobby do fund raising for various charities and will launch their new reality TV show In Jou Skoene this year.  The show is about them spending time with average, every day, hardworking, non-celebrity citizens and looking into what they do at work and what their lives entail.

Karlien is also set to release a new album in 2017 which is likely to reach platinum status as her previous one did. Do not miss the opportunity to catch this darling of Afrikaans music at the Boardwalk again. Tickets are available from Westway Café and cost R120 per person. Fans are urged to book soon as her shows at the Boardwalk usually sell out quickly.
