LIGHTS, ACTION AND GAME ON AT ST GEORGE’S PARK THIS FRIDAY

Lights, action and game on at St George’s park

St George’s Park will officially launch the newly installed multi million rand dancing LED floodlights on Friday 10 November when the Warriors play the VKB Knights in the opening match of the RamSlam T20 Challenge.

It’s going to be lights, action and game on when the match gets underway at 6 pm, providing spectacular cricket and great entertainment with added excitement for fans with the doubled Catch a Million, tallying up to Catch TWO Million Competition, requiring fans to take a clean one-handed catch off a 6.

A new digital scoreboard has been installed as part of the upgrade and will provide a high quality viewing experience for the fans and players alike.

It’s a not to be missed match with a one-time only ticket price of R10 a ticket for ALL unreserved seats.

“We are very excited to be hosting the first match of the competition. The new lights will provide us with the opportunity to add to the fan experience at the stadium. The lights have the capacity to provide “theatrics” which we will be showing off at this first match during the supper break.” said CEO Mark Williams “Furthermore our lights are now up to international standard and we have increased the Lux from 800 to a minimum of 2500 Lux at centre pitch, 2000 at inner field and 1800 Lux over the outer field.”

The Warriors will be the first team to play under the lights and are hoping that they will have the home advantage in this opening game. “We are looking forward to the change in format after playing 4 day cricket. We did really well last season in the T20 competition and we are working hard to make sure we stay in the running this year” said Jon-Jon Smuts.

A launch ceremony will be held during the break on the field with representatives from Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Cricket South Africa and EP Cricket in attendance.

As a spectator and fan you have the chance to get in the action and win your share of R2m in the Catch a Million competition at all televised matches so we urge you to come down to the grounds, try your luck and be a part of the action. T&C’s apply.
