Mohair South Africa set for the 13th annual Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees.
With two successful years behind them, Mohair South Africa (MSA) is shifting into high gear for one of the most celebrated festivals in the Eastern Cape. From the 27- 29 June 2014, the small citrus town of Kirkwood will come alive with an array of activities, stalls, celebrities and a whole lot more; including an interactive Mohair tent that will allow festival-goers to make their mark.
The Mohair bicycle, which debuted at the recent Design Indaba in Cape Town, will be set-up at the Mohair tent for visitors to power-up with each pedal. The creatively engineered bicycle is designed to activate an electric knitting machine with each pedal stroke. The end product is one continuous scarf that will be reworked and donated to a local youth charity after the festival; a great initiative to educate visitors about the knitting process as well as giving MSA an opportunity to give back to the province.
Apart from the bicycle, there will also be other great Mohair products and entertainment at the Mohair tent –guaranteeing fun for the whole family. A wide variety of Mohair products will be on offer from sought-after manufactures including: Kelly Me, Adele Cutten, Jan Paul Barnard, Elsa Barnard Carpets, Hinterveld, African Expressions, Abafazi, Cape Mohair, Camdeboo Leisure and BabyMo; giving festival-goers an exclusive offering of luxury Mohair products all under one roof.
Lindsay Humphreys, Marketing Co-Ordinator of MSA added, “We are thrilled to be part of the festival for a third year running. With so much to do and see, it’s a great weekend to showcase our local brand amongst other proudly Eastern Cape products. We really feel at home at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees and we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that fun can be found in every corner of our tent. We hope to see you there!”
With over 350 stalls, a kids zone and over 30 local artists performing over the three days, the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees is going to be a weekend of untamed adventures including an aerial display, extreme motorcycle stunt show, expos, wine and beer tents, cooking demonstrations, agricultural, new car and 4x4 expos – just to mention a few.
