MUCK RUN REACHES SELL-OUT STAGE

Nelson Mandela Bay's dirtiest fun run, the Muck Run presented by the Edge Financial Group, has received overwhelming response this year with one of the three races already sold out and just a hand full of entries still remaining.

The Muck Run is a fun charity driven untimed 5k obstacle course established by non-profit events company Zports Events NPC which sees individual and team participants tackling over 10 obstacles through the 5km bush course including a 30m slip and slide, cattle dip, swamp crossing, zap trap and mud crawl. Each year the event appeals to participants and spectators to donate unwanted clothing and their dirty race kit to charity with this year's donations being collected for Khaya Cheshire in Walmer Township.

Due to the popularity of this fun run, the event is duplicated over the weekend with a 5km run starting at 3pm on Saturday 18th April and another at 10am on the Sunday 19th whilst children 12 years and under,  who are unsure of the 5km distance, have their own 2km obstacle course on the Saturday afternoon. Zsports have already confirmed that the Saturday 5km is SOLD-OUT with the remaining entries for team and individuals for the Saturday kids race and the Sunday 5km course expected to be snapped up this week. Late entries at just R150 for the 5k and R100 for the kids race are available online on www.muckrun.co.za. Participants are encouraged to dress up for the event with awesome prizes from Woodlands Dairy for the best dressed individual and teams over the weekend. Collection of race packs will be at the Wellness Hub at 2 Ascot Road (cnr Connyngham road and Ascot Road) on Thursday 16th between 11am and 6pm.

The Muck Run is hosted at Bushpig Adventures off Lakeside Road Seaview and offers a fantastic spectacle for the whole family with some of the most exciting obstacles scattered around the festival zone which features the Castle Lite beer garden and food vendors area. Gates open at 12 noon on Saturday 18th and 8am on the Sunday with an entry fee of just R20 per vehicle managed by the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth Sunrise.
