NELSON MANDELA BAY PRIDE FLAG

 NELSON MANDELA BAY PRIDE FLAG

On the 27th and 28th of November Nelson Mandela Bay Pride will fly the biggest Rainbow Flag (also known as the Gay Pride Flag or LGBTI Flag) in Africa, and possibly in the world, on the Donkin Reserve flag pole.

Measuring 12 x 8 meters the NMB Pride Rainbow Flag is the biggest of its kind to hang on a flagpole in Africa.

NMB Pride took a decision to manufacture this flag and fly it on South Africa’s tallest flag pole as a symbol of solidarity, diversity & inclusiveness, of hope & of yearning, as well as a beacon of our love for those who do not have the freedom we sometimes take for granted in our country - those who are subjected to the animosity from the leaders and communities in theirs.

It will fly for the school boy & girl who are bullied for being different, for the people who are afraid to be their true selves in the communities they belong to, and for each and every victim of violent hate crimes.

This will form part of the 5th annual Nelson Mandela Bay Pride Festival and Parade held at The Boardwalk Lawns in Port Elizabeth
