NELSON MANDELA BAY RECEIVES A WHOPPING 6 WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS NOMINATIONS
Port Elizabeth Harbour port has been nominated in the category for Africa's leading Cruise Port.
Nelson Mandela Bay has received a whopping total of six (6) nominations for the World Travel Awards Africa 2016 which are described as the ‘Oscars of the Tourism Industry’ and for which nominations closed recently.
Celebrating their 23rd anniversary, the World Travel Awards are acknowledged internationally as the ultimate travel accolade for the tourism industry with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire to. In their quest to identify and reward excellence in tourism, the award organisers sought to invite brands that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence to participate in their annual programme.
“We are excited to see an increasing number of our products and services as we continuously strive for excellence in our tourism offerings,” said Mandlakazi Skefile, Chief Executive Officer of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism.
The nominations scored for Nelson Mandela Bay include the Port Elizabeth port, for Africa’s leading Cruise Port category, No. 5 Boutique Art Hotel in the Leading Boutique Hotels category, with Sharmwari Game Reserve scooping four nominations for the following categories: Africa’s Conservation Company, Africa’s Leading Game Reserve Brand, Africa’s Leading Private Game Reserve and Africa’s Leading Safari Lodge.
“We are ecstatic to receive these illustrious acknowledgements from the World Travel Awards, especially in such a competitive environment,” said Skefile.
She added that “being nominated in six of the categories is a true testament to our team’s diligence and commitment to providing the highest quality travel experiences for visitors to the Metro”.
Winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony that will be attended by hundreds of top hospitality leaders from across Africa on the 9th of April 2016 in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Winners of the World Travel Award will receive the following products and services to showcase their establishments and generate exposure and revenue: a winner’s trophy, wall plague, a winner shield for display on promotional materials and corporate publicity and a winner certificate.
