NELSON MANDELA BAY STADIUM ANNOUNCES TICKETPRO AS NEW TICKETING PROVIDER

FEBRUARY 20, 2015: ACCESS Management, operators of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, today (subs: 20 February 2015) announced that it has changed ticketing service providers, with TicketPro coming on board with immediate effect as its preferred ticketing provider.

“We are excited to announce this partnership to our loyal supporters. From today and moving forward all Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium event tickets will be sold through TicketPro,” said Chantal Du Pisani, Nelson Mandela Stadium chief executive.

TicketPro, a proud member of the Blue Label Telecoms Limited Group, is South Africa's latest secure electronic ticketing provider and is also the official ticketing partner of Cricket South Africa and the Blue Bulls.

TicketPro uses the latest in information and printing technology to provide a ticketing service that incorporates a myriad of security features in every ticket.

“We look forward to our spectators experiencing TicketPro’s world-class ticketing system. It is about making it as easy and convenient as possible for the spectator,” added Du Pisani.

Residents of Nelson Mandela Bay are in line for a sporting and musical feast in March.

Chippa United also known as Chilli Boys, the city’s local Premier Soccer League (PSL) team, have had a “fantastic 2014/15 season thus far” its chief executive, Peter Koutroulis, said.

Their debut friendly against PSL giants, Kaizer Chiefs was an action-filled game and cements the belief that they deserve to be in the PSL.

“Fans can expect more in 2015 and should look forward to some top notch matches that include but are not limited to Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic. The players are currently putting in many hours in preparation of their PSL match against Polokwane City on 4th March and soccer lovers can catch this match live at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium,” said Koutroulis.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will also present a back-to-back dose of Currie Cup pre-season friendly and musical entertainment on the weekend of March 6 and 7.

The Eastern Province (EP) Kings will kick-start the exciting weekend when they go head-to-head with the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

“Less than 24 hours after the rugby, local music fans can expect a big party as Algoa FM presents its music live to the Eastern Cape with top national acts performing at Algoa FM’s first ‘Algoa Live’ music concert at the stadium,” added Du Pisani.

The seven hour concert promises a line-up of seven renowned national musicians including Mi Casa, Jimmy Nevis, Kurt Darren, Prime Circle, Lloyd Cele, Goldfish and Stuart Reece.

“The Stadium is, after all, a multi-purpose stadium and bringing concerts to this iconic venue allows for event diversity. Music is something everybody can relate to – and we are very proud to present South Africa’s finest artist from our venue,” Du Pisani added.

Meanwhile the rugby calendar is a hive of activity from June onwards. “From June through to October, Port Elizabeth should gear up for a promising feast of rugby. Rugby enthusiasts can catch the EP Kings take on top teams such as the Cell C Sharks and GWK Griquas in the Currie Cup Premier Division,” said Charl Crous, Eastern Province Rugby’s chief executive officer.
