Nelson Mandela Bay to Host the 2025 Africa Triathlon Championships in a Historic First for the Eastern Cape

Gqeberha, South Africa – The vibrant region of Nelson Mandela Bay has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Africa Triathlon Championships, marking the first time this high-profile continental event will be hosted in the Eastern Cape.

From April 4th to 6th, 2025, the city will welcome top athletes from over 30 countries to compete in a weekend packed with thrilling races, showcasing the region's ability to host world-class sporting events.

The championship weekend, sponsored by Old Mutual Wealth, will feature six major continental events, providing a dynamic lineup of elite and youth races that promise to captivate both participants and spectators. Among the highlights are:

The event is managed by Zsports Events SA in collaboration with Nmb Triathlon and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, who are working together to deliver an unparalleled experience for athletes and fans alike.
