Plenty of action at the Boardwalk this June
There’s no reason to stay at home this winter. The Boardwalk is bringing the heat with their June entertainment line-up!

Visitors to The Boardwalk during the month of June can enjoy loads of live entertainment from Sunday night jazz to Friday night comedy featuring fantastic comedians such as Donovan Goliath, Mpho Modikoane, Vittorio Leonardi, Mark Banks, Tony De King, Kedibone Mulaudzi, Jason Goliath and Mel Miller.

Discover the secret origin of Krump dancing

Ever wondered where Krump dancing originated? Ever wondered what Krump dancing is? Comedian Donovan Goliath has the answers – and he will be sharing them in The Boardwalk’s new Action Bar from eight thirty in the evening on Friday, June 8.

Goliath will be joined by Mpho "Popps" Modikoane. He first hit the stage in “So you think you funny,” going on to perform with comedians such as Trevor Noah and Marc Lottering, and receiving standing ovations in “Blacks Only”.
Now, it’s the turn of comedy lovers in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The answer to Krump dancing, of course – is that “it started right here in South Africa”, according to Goliath. Goliath has played to packed houses at festivals such as the Tshwane Comedy Nights at the State Theatre, and Blacks Only.

The Boardwalk Action Bar will become the new home of national comedians every Friday night featuring some of South Africa’s funniest comedians.  Friday nights at the newly opened Action Bar will not be the same again when people fall over the seats with laughter.  To start the weekend on a good note, get down the Action Bar to be entertained by comedians with DJ Pete Larkin spinning his decks straight after the laughter at 22h00 and entry is free.

Quirky, Skewed and governed by cartoon law, Vittorio Leonardi and Mark Banks will be live at the Boardwalk this June

Vittorio Leonardi is an “Italian born stallion who grew up on the streets of Welkom”.

He has performed with the Joe Parker’s Improv Express and The Starship Improvise for over nine years, and has given talks on comedy to Toastmasters South Africa and Mensa.

Banks, a Nelson Mandela Bay favourite, is well known for poking fun at the expense of the rich and famous, and for his memorable stand-up comedy routines.

Entry is for over 18’s only.
