PRIME CIRCLE TO ROCK THE FESTIVE SEASON AT THE BOARDWALK
When Ross Learmonth, lead singer of Prime Circle, hauntingly sings “Hello Hello, Hello Hello to the world, I can’t see”, crowds go crazy and there can be no doubt as to why the band is one of South Africa’s very best. Local fans can look forward to seeing Prime Circle perform this and many of their other smash hits live at The Boardwalk this festive season. The Boardwalk will be hosting Prime Circle, rightfully called South African Rock Royalty, on 23 December 2016 and its promises to be a sell out show.
“We are excited to welcome back Prime Circle to our stage. It has been too long. Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early, as most of Prime Circle’s concerts sell out very quickly,” says Vuyiswa King, Events & Entertainment Manager of The Boardwalk.
Bring in the Night Deluxe is the title of this show and that of their latest album. Although the band will focus o the concert will be on their latest material, the band will also perform some of its past chart-toppers from the albums Hello Crazy World, Live This Life, All or Nothing, Jeckyll & Hyde and Evidence. All of these albums have reached either gold or platinum status, transforming in style from commercial, anthemic radio hits to a harder, edgier kind of rock. Join in as they ignite the stage and leave audiences stunned at the quality of performance.
Starting off as just a dream in Witbank, Mpumalanga, Prime Circle has proved to be a formidable force with incredible staying power. Never changing their signature sound which is so characteristic of the band and makes their music easily identifiable and segregates it from other rock bands completely, these music masters have found and stuck to the winning recipe for success.
The Boardwalk presents an opportunity for all Port Elizabeth residents and all visitors to The Bay this festive season to see a local band which has become an international favourite shake things up with their excellent lighting, evocative self-written lyrics and unparalleled musical ability. Gigging intensely in Europe quite often, Prime Circle has visited France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
It is in Germany, however, that the band have settled and become well-known and very-loved. Listed on various German radio stations and topping the charts, the Prime Circle five have also started headlining major rock festivals in Germany. Although Germany has become a second home to this dynamic band, South African fans are not forgotten.
The band has won and been nominated for various awards for their albums and music videos in South Africa and Africa, including Best Music Video of the Year at the SAMA XXI category as well as a nomination for the MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Pop & Alternative Act. They were also nominated for Best Music Video of the Year for their single “Doors” off their album Let The Night In and also for Best Artist in African Rock at the All Africa Music Awards, to name but a few. “Without the fans, we would be nothing. And I don’t ever want to do anything else. Creating music for a living is a privilege, and we never forget that,” are the words of the lead singer.
Catch Ross Learmoth (vocals, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, songwriter), Marco Gomes (bass, songwriter), Dirk Bisschoff (lead guitar, acoustic guitar, songwriter), Neil Breytenbach (keyboards) and of course Dale Schnettler as he clashes with his drums in typical Schnettler-style and does some backing vocals, acoustic guitar and percussion this December.
The show starts at 19h30 on 23 December at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre. Tickets cost R 180 per person, children 3-12 years (R150) and are available from Computicket.
