Puppy Love

The one-day expo seeks to bring together ‘like-minded people’ and will showcase pet care products as well as fun activities and competitions including dog dancing, agility and obedience.
Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (NMBT) chief executive Mandlakazi Skefile said the pet expo was a great addition to activities in Nelson Mandela Bay and was the beginning of a niche adventure focused on animal lovers.
“This is an exciting event for us as a city because it caters to a specific audience and we look forward to supporting it more as it grows,” said Skefile.
Event organisers Bernadette Meistre and Liza Vermaak conceptualised the expo idea as a way to teach people to communicate with their ‘furry friends’, each other and to support charity. The event, that promises to be fun, also provides an opportunity for pet owners to connect with pet product providers.
Also coming to the expo are representatives of breeder clubs, veterinary and medical services, pet adoption agencies and fun entertainment for the entire family.
“As the weather gets warmer, family fun days are the way to go and the pet expo will provide a great day out for families. After all, Nelson Mandela Bay is all about family fun,” said Skefile.
The Pet Expo will be open from 9am to 4pm. For more information visit www.petexpo.co.za.
