RADIO ACTIVE PRODUCTIONS PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES THE DEBUT ALBUM “THE JOURNEY” FROM MARCUS PITIE

Marcus Pities’ long awaited album the journey, recently released digitally and available locally on CD, has already garnered great support from friends and critics alike. Described as easy listening jazz with a sound, which appeals to all irrespective of race or creed, ‘The Journey’ a self-produced collection of jazz instrumentals fuses smooth melodies with soulful performances, a great companion to jazz lovers and music enthusiasts alike.

Having played and produced on other artists albums but still with a desire to one day release his own, Marcus, teamed up with local label Radio Active Productions Publishing and spent seven months in studio, writing, recording, arranging and perfecting a collection of his own tunes for his debut. With musical influences such as Jonathan Butler, Lee Ritenour and Paul Jackson Jnr, there is something on this album that will appeal to everyone. From Sunday afternoon drive companion tunes like cruising, to title track the Journey each song has been crafted to tell the story of Marcus’ musical journey. One which he is excited to share with his listeners Native to the Eastern Cape having been born and raised in Uitenhage, Marcus Pitie has always had a love for music.

Teaching himself guitar at the age of eight to overcome a hospital stay, Marcus continued to add other instruments to his skills set, and has a natural gift when it comes to playing This soft spoken musician, now a husband and father brings a depth to his music, often preferring to let it speak when his words fail When not playing himself Marcus can be found teaching instruments, producing and engineering other local artists. 

Launching to radio next month, Marcus has already received great response to his music, through bookings, social media and various interviews.
