Radisson Blu Hotel, Port Elizabeth claims title of Best Hotel in the City

One of the most iconic properties in the Eastern Cape, the Radisson Blu Hotel Port Elizabeth, has been voted as the City’s Best Hotel at the inaugural SouthAfrica.TO Travel Awards held recently.
“We are honoured to receive this prestigious title, and attribute our Hotel’s success to the simple mission of Yes I Can!, which is the guiding principle for all of the nearly 1400 Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s properties throughout the world,” explains Radisson Blu Hotel Port Elizabeth’s acting General Manager, Bernard Thomas. “Signature services, such as free high speed internet to all our
Guests, position the hotel brand on the forefront of innovation in modern hospitality.”
The Radisson Blu Hotel Port Elizabeth is an integral part of the hospitality and business profile in the city, and adds considerable value in attracting conferences, business travellers, large tourist groups and international celebrities,” comments Thomas. “To be recognised as the city’s best hotel is a validation of our commitment to exceed both our leisure and corporate guests’ expectations, and to offer first class accommodation during their stay in our ‘Friendly City’.”
Port Elizabeth is at the heart of South Africa’s motor industry, and is also ideally situated for tourists as either the starting or finishing point for the world famous Garden Route. The City’s resurgence in popularity over the last five years is clearly illustrated by the proliferation of new restaurants and hotels in response to the increased demand. “Initiatives such as Route 67 lend new vibrancy to the City and are proving very popular among the local and international tourists,” comments Thomas. “In celebration of Nelson Mandela’s tireless work in bringing democracy to South Africa, 67 artworks have been placed around the City Centre, and Route 67 takes tourists on an informative jaunt past local galleries, markets and museums,” explains Thomas.
The category winners were announced after a country wide survey was conducted by the largest South African owned travel Agency, South Africa.TO. "Our readers have spoken, and we'd like to congratulate the Radisson Blu Hotel on being voted in as the Best Hotel in Port Elizabeth. A huge thank you to all our readers, both of our newsletters and those on our social media platforms, who took part in the SouthAfrica.TO Travel Awards for allowing us to hear their collective voice. I'm confident that this will allow us to learn from each other and make wiser travel choices." said Rob Baker, co-owner of SouthAfrica.TO
