Round two of New Brighton Wine fest set for success
IMBIZO EVENTS will host the second annual New Brighton Wine Festival. The event will be held at the Red Location Museum, New Brighton in Port Elizabeth from the 22 to 24 September 2011.

Imbizo Events Group identified a need for the township of New Brighton to shine and that its residents take pride and ownership of its history as September is national Heritage and Tourism Month.

“We want to commemorate and resonate the African Heritage and also to celebrate the Tourism Month. We will have visitors touring form other towns and cities,” said Motse Mfuleni, chief executive of Imbizo Events.

Award-winning South African wines will be exhibited at the festival and wine tasting will also take place throughout the evening. The aim is to educate and entertain the emerging wine market in young and accomplished professional in the townships, added Mfuleni.

This year we are implementing more lifestyle related elements into the New Brighton Wine Festival, such as Interior deco Art Gallery, B&B's exhibitors, and entertainment – but wine tasting remains at the top of our list, said organisers.

There will be food seminars with cooking demonstrations will take place. People will be given lectures on food and wine pairing by Stenden South Africa, a hospitality school based in Port Alfred. There will also be live music entertainment by well-known national and local artists spanning the genres of afro-pop, hip hop, jazz and urban music to round off the Festival from both.

Organisers say they expect attendance figures to better last year’s which were very high.
