Rugby’s Biggest Party just got bigger
With just 14 days to go to Rugby Biggest Party – the Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa Sevens -  the South African Rugby Union and Castle Lager have confirmed that fans will be treated to a fantastic music concert on the Friday evening. The tournament takes on 9 & 10 December at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and is the third leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Popular South African groups Goldfish and Dr Victor & the Rasta Rebels plus well-known DJ Ready D have been confirmed as the main acts for the Castle Lager SuperFan Concert which will take place on the Friday evening straight after the end of the first day’s play.

Fans who bought tickets to watch the action on Friday will be allowed free entrance to the music concert, said SARU Marketing Manager, Sarah Williams.

“We are super-excited to provide our fans the opportunity to not only experience top-class rugby,  but to ensure they have a fantastic experience. It’s about providing fans the ultimate party and we encourage them to come “dressed up” to party . Sevens Rugby is the ‘Rock n Roll of Rugby’ and we hope that through our event platforms and by aligning with top musicians – we can create the most memorable event for them.”

A full list of activities, including a Springbok Sevens signing session on Tuesday, 6 December at Greenacres Mall, is planned for the week in the build-up to the international event and all 16 teams will practise daily on fields in the city and surrounding areas.

The teams, match officials and IRB tournament staff arrive on Sunday, 4 December in Port Elizabeth from Dubai, where the second leg of the World Series will be held next weekend.

There are still tickets available for both day’s action and rugby fans who have not yet book their seats to the most exciting rugby event of the year, can do so at any Computicket outlet or online at www.computicket.co.za
