SASSY LOCAL DUO, MAISHA, SET TO SHINE AT THE BOARDWALK

Sassy singing duo, Maisha, will showcase the exceptional talent that earned them the opportunity to perform at the second Inauguration of his Excellency President Jacob Zuma in Parliament at an intimate show at The Boardwalk at the end of the month. Sassy singing duo, Maisha, will showcase the exceptional talent that earned them the opportunity to perform at the second Inauguration of his Excellency President Jacob Zuma in Parliament at an intimate show at The Boardwalk at the end of the month. The duo, which hails from Port Elizabeth, will grace the stage at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre on Saturday, 28 November 2015. The duo has promised an energetic and captivating show.

Maisha, formerly known as 3 Quarter, comprises Nomabotwe Mtimkulu and Bulelwa “KiKi” Gahe who have been singing and performing together from a young age. During their career, they have shared stages with renowned artists such as the late Stompi Mavi; Thandiswa Mazwai; Siphokazi, Phinda Mtya; Ringo Madlingozi and George Benson to name the few. Currently working on their first album, Maisha describes their music as “Afro feel”, influenced by Gloria Bosman, Phinda Mtya, Y’ssou Ndou, and Gill Scott. On stage, the ladies are supported by a professional six piece band including a keyboard player; drummer; bassist and lead guitarist, as well as three backup vocalists.
