SPRING SUNSETS WITH CHARITY NETWORKING EVENTS

Autism Eastern Cape co-vice chair Gillian McAinsh, chair Joan Jorritsma and Evy Evlambiou of Sotheby’s

The next Charity Networking Events fundraiser - Spring Sunsets on Thursday September 7 will feature the talents of saxophonist Marcellus Wellman, singer Faye Gatley and multi-faceted entertainer Niqui Cloete-Barrass– and much more.

As well as top-notch entertainment by the trio from Boost Creative Solutions, the night is shaping up to be a party of note, say the organisers Megan Holden, Evy Evlambiou – both estate agents at Lew Geffen Sotheby’s, Natalie Macleod of Paintsmiths and Meghan France representing The Rental Company.

“It’s a relaxed and sociable way to spend time with entrepreneurs, professionals and other business people from various fields across the Bay,” said Megan.

Spring Sunsets is a cocktail evening at 6.30 for 7pm at the Roof Garden Bar in Central.  Tickets are R195 per person and include the night’s entertainment, a two-course meal by Foong’s and a welcome drink.

Cloete-Barrass will MC the evening and said “Faye has a gorgeous voice and together with Marcellus on the saxophone will do lovely, sophisticated music to give us relaxed, chilled vibe for the night.”

There is more than music on the venue, say the organizing team who bring on board others who give of their time and services free of charge, keeping costs down to ensure charities reap the benefits.

“There are stacks of lucky draws and a few incredibly indulgent raffles to raise funds on the night,” said Holden. “And if that isn’t enough spoiling look no further than the Woolworths pamper station, where Waheeda Williams will be heading up the hand massages and the designer scent experiences.”

Jenni Gault International Jewellery Design has sponsored a huge amount of prizes of stunning jewellery that will be shown off by her brand ambassadors.

This month’s beneficiary is Autism Eastern Cape, which gives support and information to families living with autism. Autism Eastern Cape also runs a small early intervention centre for pre-schoolers with autism from its home base at 247 Main Road in Walmer.

Although there will not be a formal presentation on the subject, guests will have a chance to learn more about autism spectrum disorder from representatives of the Port Elizabeth charity on the night.

And the quarterly events are just getting better: there is a sophisticated Vinimark wine station providing a wine bouquet specificallyl chosen by Carmen Capes to compliment the food and ambience. Hendricks Gin and Fitch & Leedes Bespoke Mixers will give each guest a welcome cocktail.

So far this year, CNE has given Bay charities LoveStory and Animal Welfare Society substantial donations.

“The idea is to bring together a dynamic group of people with shared values for relaxed and informal lunches. Besides spending the afternoon in great company, and supporting a local charity, you will also have the opportunity to meet and network with interesting people, whether you come alone, with colleagues or with friends,” said Holden.

“Great things happen at our charity soirées! Guests are introduced to new business, discover new collaborators and partners for projects, jobs and volunteering opportunities as well as other meaningful connections. Take a look at our Facebook page for details of past events.”

Clinton Johnson of Green Pepper Productions is sponsoring the sound for the event so that guests can kick back and enjoy the sublime sounds of the saxophone and singers’ voices.

The Roof Garden Bar is at 33 Chapel Street, off Donkin Street, in Central and there is plenty of parking, with an experienced car guard in attendance.
