TAKE A TOUR OF INDIAN FLAVOURS AND AROMAS AT THE BAYSIDE PANTRY IN JUNE

The Bayside Pantry’s Indian buffet.

Just perfect for warming up chilly Wednesdays in June is The Bayside Pantry’s Indian buffet. An extravaganza of Indian flavours and aromas, the Indian buffet pays homage to Port Elizabeth’s Indian community, and the many appreciators of Indian cuisine.

The menu has been put together by The Bayside Pantry’s culinary team, combining age-old recipes and techniques that have been passed down through generations. Going beyond curries, the buffet invites taste explorers to experience the rich diversity of dishes, tastes and aromas of Indian-style food. From extraordinary Indian soups like Palak (Spicy Spinach Soup), and exciting vegetable dishes such as Vegetable Korma, Braised Green Bean and Potato Curry, and Red Lentil and Chick Pea Curry to hearty meaty hot pots such as Spicy Lamb Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Tripe and Trotter Curry, it is a taste adventure.

As always, there are stir fries and grills, but with an Indian twist, as well as the carvery station laden which is laden with succulent meats and roasted vegetables.  The authenticity of the Indian buffet is maintained right to the end, with a mouth-watering selection of Indian desserts including Carrot Halva, Sago and Coconut Dessert, Gulab Jamun, Coconut Cheesecake and Kesar Peda (Indian Milk Dessert) amongst others.

“There is no better time to sample spicy, hearty Indian fare than in winter. The Bayside Pantry is putting on an extensive spread of authentic Indian dishes that are sure to sooth the soul on chilly nights,” says The Boardwalk Marketing Manager, Nqobile Majozi.

The Indian Buffet is available during June between 18h00 and 22h00 on Wednesdays. The cost is R149 per person. Booking is essential on (041) 507 7793.
