WE LOVE ROMANCE AT THE BOARDWALK
Kiplings Braserie
The scene will be set for romance at The Boardwalk’s beautiful and airy Kipling’s Brasserie for Valentines this year. Already a romantic setting, overlooking the spectacular Indian Ocean, Kipling’s Brasserie will be lit with the warm glow of candlelight and the air filled with the sound of soft playing love songs.
“We will be treating our guests to a sumptuous five course, Italian themed dinner which absolutely oozes romance from beginning to end. Each dish has been carefully selected for its senses evoking flavours and aromas, while encouraging the slow and easy dining for which the Italians are renowned. Our guests will be treated with utmost care in a lavish atmosphere,” says Executive Chef Paul Bain.
The Antipasto course is a selection of smoked, cured and dried meats with artichoke puree, garlic crostini and dried sweet olives. The Primo course is indulgent glazed osso bucco raviolo, with carrot and spinach. The Secondo course offers a choice between seabass, sea vegetables, fennel puree, dried tomato, tomato and basil sauces, and pork belly, polenta gnocci, roasted aubergene and Milanese sauce. The Formaggi e Frutta course is gorgonzola with roasted fruits and the honey thereof. The delicious feast culminates with Mascarpone semifredo, Amaretto biscuit, balsamic strawberries and salted chocolate. Kipling’s Brasserie’s Valentines dinner, which costs R225 per person, will be available from 12 to 14 February 2016. Booking is essential on 041 507 9452.
For those seeking something a little more casual this Valentine’s Day, The Boardwalk’s popular Coast and Bayside Pantry restaurants have also got great offers. At Coast, couples can feast on a mouthwatering three course meal for R245 per person. To start there is a platter to share, laden with sugar and soy cured tuna and salmon gravadlax, Knysna oysters and cold poached prawns, rye crackers, capers and lemon mayonnaise. Then there is a choice between West Coast sole, beef fillet and garlic butter prawns, pan roasted chicken supreme or seared tuna. For dessert, there are macaroons, chocolate truffles and chocolate strawberries.
The Bayside Pantry will offer an extensive French themed buffet lunch and dinner for R195 per person in a laidback and friendly setting.
